Pioneer Trail Ghost Town: Purchase limited edition items for a free Ghostly Horse

If you'd like to get more out of the Pioneer Trail Halloween event, and don't mind spending some (ok, a lot of) Horseshoes to do just that, you can now purchase a series of five limited edition items in lovely shades of pink and purple in a special event. To be especially clear, this option hasn't rolled out to all users just yet, but once you receive it, you'll see a list of five items, along with their prices and a time limit for how long you have to purchase them.

The five items are those that you'd normally see around Ghost Town while playing:

    Cursed Chicken - 5 Horseshoes
    Ghostly Grave - 35 Horseshoes
    Cursed Sheep - 40 Horseshoes
    Cursed Cow - 45 Horseshoes
    Haunted Dog - 45 Horseshoes

For the full set, it will set you back 175 Horseshoes. That might sound like a lot (ok, it is a lot), but you'll have incentive to go for the whole lot. If you do end up purchasing one of everything, you'll receive a free, exclusive limited edition Ghostly Horse. This one is bright purple, and will apparently only be made available through this event. Of course, this horse is one of the many "rideable" ones released in the game, so if you want your avatar to be able to ride in style the whole year through, make sure to give this event a look.

Unfortunately, if you don't have enough Horseshoes on hand by default, you'll only have a matter of days to either earn some extras, or purchase them - six days, to be exact (or less, depending on when this finally rolls out to you). Again, these items will likely only be available via this particular event (or, at the very earliest, might be released next Halloween), so do any shopping sooner, rather than later to make sure you won't miss out entirely!

Will you purchase any of these items for your own Homestead in Pioneer Trail? Will you purchase them all to receive the free horse?

Adventure World Sneak Peek: Halloween Volcano coming soon

While Halloween may be nearly upon us, Adventure World has yet to receive any in-game celebration. Don't worry though, adventurers, as something big is apparently coming - and soon! Over on the game's official Facebook fan page, we've been given a couple of images that serve as sneak peeks to a Halloween event that will take place in the game.

Specifically, we're told that we'll be traveling into an active volcano, although the reasoning as to why has yet to be explained in detail. If we can assume anything from the picture posted just today, it looks like zombies might be that reason! Here's what we're told:

"Coming soon - An Adventure World Halloween - Are you ready to encounter zombie spiders, explore ancient crypts, meet ancient warriors and journey into the heart of an active volcano?"

From other images (seen below) on the game's fan page, it looks like something has happened with an ancient Jade Skeleton, to cause it to lose its skull. Whether raiders or bandits came and stole it, or it was just separated over the years is anyone's guess, but we'll likely be left to reconnect the two.

Of course, we'll be sure to bring you a complete look at Adventure World's Halloween event just as soon as it launches, so keep checking back with us!

Are you looking forward to Halloween events in Adventure World? What do you think of the Jade Skeleton and its missing skull?

FarmVille Halloween Items: Witch Costume, Halloween Candle Tree and more

With tonight's FarmVille update, we see the re-release of a few items into the game's store, including trees that haven't been gone for very long. There are quite a few new avatar costumes available for you to add to your wardrobe, including one for coins, so keep a lookout for that as well. As usual, here's our complete look at these items, so get that Farm Cash ready!

Trees

Fall Tree - 8 Farm Cash
Northern Red Oak Tree - 8 Farm Cash
Halloween Candle Tree - 8 Farm Cash
Big Halloween Candle Tree - 14 Farm Cash

Not to be confused with the Halloween Lantern Tree released earlier this month, the Halloween Candle Trees are darker, and are different trees with their own mastery signs. Of course, this still doesn't change the fact that you don't need to purchase the Big version, as it can be earned for free through mystery seedlings.

Animals

African Elephant - 1.5 million coins
Blue Dragon - 24 Farm Cash
Phantom Duck - 18 Farm Cash
Black Unicorn - 30 Farm Cash

The Blue Dragon is a re-release, with the animal first being available for free as a goal reward. If you didn't receive it then, or just want an extra, you can now purchase one / another for a limited time.

Buildings

Frankenstein Lab - 42 Farm Cash

Unfortunately, awesome items tend to come with a high price tag, as this one does. Still, if you need another large, Halloween-themed building on your land (if Count Duckula's Castle wasn't enough), and you have the Farm Cash to spare, you could definitely do much worse than this.

Decorations

Bunny Lantern - 5 Farm Cash
Gargoyle Statue - 6,000 coins
Spooky Lake - 32 Farm Cash

Here, the Gargoyle Statue is a re-release, so make sure to check your storage for any of them before needlessly spending more coins. It's a cheap item sure, but why not save those coins and put them towards something like the African Elephant instead?

Avatar Costumes

Vampire - 30 Farm Cash
Vampress - 34 Farm Cash
Witch - 30 Farm Cash
Knight - 30 Farm Cash
Princess - 100,000 coins

If you've put off buying a costume for your avatar this long, you can now make your avatar the princess in your story for coins, which is a plus. If you want to be a more traditional vampire or she-vampire, however, know that you'll need to shell out the big bucks for those.

All of these items look to be available in the game's store for the next two weeks, which gives you plenty of time, even after Halloween has passed, to stock up on decorations for next year. Happy shopping!

Will you buy any of these expensive animals or decorations for your farms in FarmVille? How many of this year's Halloween-themed items have you splurged on so far?

Cafe World Halloween Siggy's Tricks Goals: Everything you need to know

After seeing the release of Amelia's Treats goals in Cafe World's Halloween event, we're now seeing the other side of the coin - Tricks - via Siggy. These Siggy's Tricks goals are just as limited as Amelia's Treats, with the game's entire Halloween event being available only for the next week or so. Unfortunately, there are a whopping 10 goals in this Siggy's Tricks series, so I hope you're ready to do a ton of cooking (and asking for items from your friends, of course).

Siggy's Tricks 1

    Place Your Witch's Cauldron
    Serve Pumpkin Pie 30 Times
    Ask for 3 Vampire Fangs

Pumpkin Pie takes 12 hours to prepare. Meanwhile, the Witch's Cauldron is a new building project that you'll need to complete by asking your friends for parts. We'll have a full guide to building that item as soon as we can. You can check out our full guide to building the Witch's Cauldron right here. For finishing this first goal, you'll receive the Deviled Eyeballs recipe.

Siggy's Tricks 2

    Serve Deviled Eyeballs 75 Times
    Ask for 10 Glowing Skulls
    Ask for 8 Vampire Fangs

Finishing this goal gives you the Snake Bits and Bones ingredients for the Signature Dish feature.

Siggy's Tricks 3

Serve a Taste Lab Dish with Bones
    Ask for 10 Canned Screams
Serve 30 Corned Beef and Cabbage

Corned Beef and Cabbage takes 12 hours to prepare. For the Taste Lab dish, you'll need to pick Bones as one of your ingredients when putting it together. Keep in mind that each ingredient you add changes the cooking time of the final dish, so feel free to use a spice to serve a single serving of this Bones dish quickly, if you happen to make a dish that takes a while to cook on its own.

Siggy's Tricks 4

Serve Vampire Staked Steak 30 Times
    Ask for 10 Vampire Fangs
    Ask for 10 TP Rolls

Vampire Staked Steak takes a full day to prepare, unless you use a spice, or have servings in your Gift Box to serve automatically.

Siggy's Tricks 5

    Serve 30 Vegas Buffets
    Spice 10 Neighbor Stoves
    Ask for 8 Vampire Fangs

Vegas Buffets each take nine hours to make. For finishing this goal, you'll receive Celery Brooms and Cursed Cumin ingredients for the Taste Lab.

Siggy's Tricks 6

Serve a Taste Lab Dish with Cursed Cumin
    Ask for 10 TP Rolls
    Ask for 10 Gooey Eyeballs

Finishing this goal gives you the Breadstick Bones recipe to serve immediately.

Siggy's Tricks 7

    Serve Breadstick Bones 50 Times
    Ask for 8 Rotten Apples
    Ask for 8 Vampire Fangs

For completing this goal, you'll receive the Spiders ingredient.

Siggy's Tricks 8

    Serve Deviled Eyeballs 30 Times
    Ask for 10 Gooey Eyeballs
    Ask for 10 Animal Masks

For finishing this goal, you'll receive Molded Cheese.

Siggy's Tricks 9

Serve a Taste Lab Dish with Celery Brooms
    Ask for 10 Toad Tongues
    Ask for 10 Newt Eyes

Finishing this goal gives you 1,000 coins and 1,000 Cafe Points. We're almost at the end now, so don't give up yet!

Siggy's Tricks 10

Reach Level 1 Mastery of Martian Brain Bake
    Complete your Witch's Cauldron
    Ask for 10 Zombie Brains

Martian Brain Cake takes three days to cook, but only requires you to cook it seven times to reach the first level of mastery. For finishing this final goal in the Siggy's Tricks series, you'll receive the Jelly Zombie Brain recipe!

Phew! What a workout! If you've made it this far, than we congratulate you! You've gone through tons of work, and most of it likely wasn't the funnest of times, I understand. Still, by completing these goals, you've received some exclusive prizes that may not be available ever again after this event has passed, so you should be proud! I know I would be!

What do you think of these Siggy's Tricks goals? Do you like them more than the Amelia's Treats goals?

Cafe World Witch's Cauldron: Everything you need to know

As part of Cafe World's Halloween event and specifically, the series of Siggy's Tricks goals, you'll be required to build a Witch's Cauldron in your Cafe. More than just a pot for cooking, this Witch's Cauldron comes complete with a witch standing behind it, but of course, you'll need to build it first.

The Cauldron's base is available for free from the store, but if you don't want to take the time to actually construct it, you can also purchase a completed one outright for 120 Cafe Cash. If you go the free route, you'll be left to collect four different items:

    8 Cauldrons
    12 Scary Ladles
    10 Witches Brew
    8 Eyes of Newt

The Cauldrons and Witches Brew are earned through general news posts that you'll share on your wall, while the Scary Ladles and Eyes of Newt are earned through specific gift requests that you'll send to friends.

As of right now, it doesn't appear as though this item actually serves a larger purpose in your cafe, other than helping you complete not one, but two of the goals in the Siggy's Tricks series. However, you won't have to actually have the Cauldron's construction finished until you've reached the very end of those goals, which gives you a little bit of room / time to breath. Still, with this being part of the game's very limited time Halloween event, you won't want to put it off for too long...

What do you think of this Witch's Cauldron building project in Cafe World?

Cafe World Trick or Treat Party Catering Order: Everything you need to know

Cafe World may have started late on its Halloween celebrations, but the folks at Zynga have made up for that lost time by releasing a new catering order in the game to go along with the two goal series you're likely still working on (see Amelia's Treats and Siggy's Tricks). This catering order is appropriately named "Trick or Treat Party," and it sees you gathering together ghosts and goblins for one heck of a Halloween feast!

This particular order requires you to cook three dishes. You'll need to serve Marshmallow Witches (a 30-minute dish) 50 Times, Mummy Dogs (a four-hour dish) 60 rimes and Pumpkin Lasagna (a 24-hour dish) 15 times. You'll be able to bring up to 15 of your friends in on this catering order with you, so if you haven't completed Amelia's Treats goals to unlock these dishes, you can at least rely on them to do most of the heavy lifting while you catch up.

In addition to those cooking tasks, you'll also need to collect five Spider Webs and five Jack-O-Lanterns by sending out requests for your friends to send them to you.

If you can complete all of these tasks within three days of starting, you'll receive the three-star rating, 15 Catering Points, 7,500 Cafe Points, 200,000 coins and the Spooktacular Cupcakes recipe. If you can't finish in quite so fast a time, but can still finish in under five days, you won't receive the free recipe, but you will earn two stars, 10 Catering Points, 5,000 Cafe Points and 125,000 coins. Finally, if you finish at any point after the first five days have passed, you'll receive a single star, 5 Catering Points, 3,000 Cafe Points and 75,000 coins.

All things considered, this one doesn't seem to be too difficult a catering order on its own. The difficulty will come in completing the Amelia's Treats goals to unlock the dishes in the first place. Once you do that, the rest of this should be a piece of cake.

Check out the rest of our Halloween coverage right here.

What do you think of this Trick or Treat Party catering order? Have you already started working on it in your cafe? How many of your friends have you teamed up with to finish this one off?

FarmVille Halloween items: Candy Corn Tree, Halloween Cottage, Jack-O'-Lantern and more

With tonight's FarmVille update, we see the game switch to Halloween-mode, as the first set of Halloween related items has been released in the store. This particular update sees the launch of both new items and old, so if you happen to regret not purchasing some items from last year's Halloween theme, take a look at our overview of these items to see if they've come back around.

Crops

Jack O Lantern - 10 Farm Cash

To be specific, the Jack O Lantern crop comes as an exclusive, permit-only crop that can be unlocked for 10 Farm Cash. For that price, you'll gain access to planting the crop as many times as you'd like for a seven day period. Once purchased and planted, you'll be able to harvest the Jack O Lanterns after 12 hours, and will gain three experience points for each and every square planted. The crop is masterable, with the first star coming at 400 harvests.

Trees

Candy Corn Tree - 8 Farm Cash
Giant Candy Corn Tree - 14 Farm Cash
Halloween Candy Tree - 8 Farm Cash
Big Halloween Candy Tree - 14 Farm Cash

If you're like me, the thought of bright and whimsical trees will likely have you ready to whip out your credit card. These trees are no exception, as the Halloween Candy trees keep their purple color constantly, while the Candy Corn trees start out in different shades of green, only to mature into the classic white, yellow and orange trio of colors we're familiar with from the candy. As usual, the Level 1 (cheaper) trees are the only ones you really need to worry about purchasing outright for your collection, as you'll likely earn the larger trees in each pair for free via Mystery Seedlings.

Animals

Candy Corn Cat - 12 Farm Cash
Candy Corn Pony - 24 Farm Cash
Candy Corn Unicorn - 30 Farm Cash
Candy Corn Stallion - 35 Farm Cash

For these animals, the Candy Corn Pony was released last year (also for 24 Farm Cash), so you might already have one on your farm. If you'd like to purchase these items for your new Lighthouse Cove farm, however, you will have to purchase multiples (duplicates) as there is no way to transfer storage to your new farm as of this writing.

Buildings

Halloween Cottage - 30 Farm Cash
Candy Corn Home - 18 Farm Cash

The Halloween Cottage has to be one of the most intricately detailed buildings I've seen released in FarmVille in quite some time, if not ever. The building is covered in various spiderwebs and has candy, pumpkins and what appear to be twigs resting in the windowsills, around the front "porch" and the sides. Even the weather vane on the roof is in the design of the bat - how neat! As for the Candy Corn Home, it takes on a cuter appearance, with smaller candy corn pieces branching off from the main home as separate rooms. It's just a shame that both of these items cost Farm Cash, rather than going for coins.

Decorations

Candy Corn Gate - 10,000 coins
Candy Corn (Fountain) - 15 Farm Cash
Jack-O'-Lantern - 3,000 coins
Candy Corn Gnome - 15 Farm Cash
Candy Corn Fence - 5,000 coins

If this Jack-O'-Lantern trio looks familiar, it's because this is one item that has been a stable in FarmVille's Halloween events for the last few years, first appearing in 2009. The price has increased somewhat, but at 3,000 coins, it's still a bargain (especially considering that they glow as though lit with a candle).

Avatar Clothing

Banana Costume - 5 Farm Cash
Candy Corn Costume - 7 Farm Cash

While I'm fairly confident additional costumes will be launched in the game's store between now and Halloween proper, if you're looking to get into the spirit early, or just really like Bananas or Candy Corn, you can spend a few Farm Cash to dress your avatar up appropriately. Remember, you can try on items to see if you like the way your avatar looks in them before purchasing.

All of these items (with the exception of the crop) will be available in the game for the next 13 days. To top all of this off, however, if you happen to purchase seven items in this theme so far within the next seven days, you'll receive a free Nightmare Rider: a Halloween-themed sheep with a pumpkin hat and an orange and black flame motorcycle. We'll make sure to let you know when additional Halloween items and features launch in the game in the coming weeks, so keep checking back with us!

Are you excited to see FarmVille transition into Halloween-themed mode this year? Which of these items is your favorite so far? Sound off in the comments.

FarmVille Halloween Model Farm offers free Arborists and more

While I know I've expressed my problems with the Model Farm in FarmVille in the past, with the new Halloween Model Farm that launched this evening, I might have to eat my words. Not only is it great to see Halloween-themed items (from one of my favorite holidays) in all of their "life-size glory," but this particular Model Farm also combines these Halloween items with Lighthouse Cove items so that we can see how that looks without spending our own money beforehand.

To add to this, you're even given free prizes just for visiting, giving us even more incentive to do so. Tonight's free prize, for example, is an Arborist. While it's unclear as to whether or not that prize is static just for today's date on the calendar or for each user's first visit to the Model Farm, but either way, it doesn't hurt to just spend a few seconds allowing the farm to load each day to receive your free prize. It could be anything from functional items to coins and beyond so isn't the mystery alone enough reason to check it out?

No? Well, also remember that you can purchase items directly from the farm if you happen to see something you like but that the store never gave you enough detail to before. I suppose that's the real purpose of the Model Farm, after all, so feel free to put it to good use.

What prizes have you received from the new Halloween Model Farm? Do you find the Model Farm feature useful, or is it just wasted space in your eyes? Let us know in the comments!
